Gully Howard Technical Limited offers a wide range of occupational hygiene courses delivered to the British Occupational Hygiene Society (BOHS) syllabi. Courses are aimed at those who wish to gain a hygiene qualification in specified topics of occupational hygiene or grouped together to gain exemption from the BOHS's Certificate* Core examination.

Qualifications are recognised internationally and each course culminates in an examination adjudicated by BOHS.

What on earth is Occupational Hygiene?

Every year, in Britain alone, more than two million people experience symptoms of ill-health believed to have been caused or made worse by their working environment and 33 million working days are lost.

The total cost for this ill-health to British society as a whole is estimated at around £15 billion. Occupational Hygiene professionals anticipate, recognise, evaluate and control these occupational health hazards, the primary objective being to protect the well-being of workers and safeguard the community at large whilst facilitating the improved performance of employees and reducing the time lost to ill-health.

A healthier work place is primarily achieved by identifying those factors which could contribute to ill-health, assessing the risks associated with them then taking steps to reduce those risks.

Courses

Courses are held throughout the year at our centre opposite Gunwharf Quays, Portsmouth which is a short walk from Express by Holiday Inn where accommodation can be arranged.

Among the amenities offered by the hotel are colour TV with satellite channels, in-room movies, direct-dial telephone and secure car parking. Although the hotel also offers wireless broadband, Gully Howard offers it at no charge at their training centre.
