If you have maintenance and repair responsibility for the premises, under Regulation 4 of the Control of Asbestos Regulations 2006, you have a duty to assess them for the presence of asbestos and the condition of that asbestos.

The common method of satisfying this duty is to commission an asbestos survey and generate an Asbestos Register for the property.
